ACT: 2019 Annual General Meeting

The USI of the ACT 2019 Annual General Meeting will be held in the Spender Theatre at the Australian Defence College, Weston Creek, on Thursday 5 September 2019, commencing at 1800 hours.

Papers for the meeting are available on the RUSIDSS-A website. Hard copies of papers will not be supplied at the meeting; members desiring a hard copy should bring their own.

Only items listed on the Agenda will be discussed at the meeting.  Members are reminded that only Life and financial Annual Members may vote on motions put to the meeting and Council elections.

Under our Constitutional arrangements and Council Charter (2015):

  • MAJGEN Michael Crane DSC & Bar, AM (Retd, President) and LTCOL Richard Maurice (Deputy President), having completed two successive two-year terms, are ineligible for re-election; these positions will be declared vacant.
  • Mrs Kay Gilchrist (Secretary) will resign from the Council for personal reasons with effect from the date of the Annual General Meeting. Her position will be declared vacant.
  • Ms Virginia Hayward, having completed an initial two year term, must seek re-election in 2019 and has indicated her intention to do so. 
  • Ms Lauren Tyrrell, having filled a casual vacancy on the Council in 2019, must seek election in 2019 and has indicated her intention to do so.
  • An additional vacancy on the Council has arisen from the mid-year resignation of Mr John Owens.

The ADC Mess will be open for networking from 1700 hours.  Members are reminded that photo ID is required for access to the Weston Creek campus.
