ACT: Dr Tony Murney: Conflict Policing in Afghanistan: the Front-line Conundrum

  • 08 Nov 2018
  • 18:00
  • Spender Theatre, Australian Defence College, Weston Creek

Registration is closed

Dr Tony Murney's October 2017 presentation on police development challenges in Afghanistan and Somalia was acclaimed by members and guests who attended. The Council is delighted to announce that, following another short tour in Afghanistan in 2018, Tony has agreed to provide an update based on his most recent experiences.

With a focus on policing and the rule of law, Tony will provide an orientation to the current situation in Afghanistan, then make observations on lessons that might benefit us when considering future engagements of this type. With the Afhgan National Police continuing to bear the brunt of the conflict in Afghanistan, he will raise questions about the sustainability of current approaches. His insights will challenge publicly stated claims about progress in the campaign.

Attendance at this event is free, but registration is required.  You can register on the website or by contacting Mickey in our office (E:; T: 02 6266 3446).

Please join us for networking in the ADC Mess from 1700 hours.

Members and guests are reminded that photo ID is required for access to the Weston Creek campus.
