RUSI Victoria

Aim

The aim of the Royal United Services Institute of Victoria (RUSI of Victoria) is to encourage the discussion of National Security and Defence matters, and to improve public awareness and understanding of such matters.

Brief History

The RUSI of Victoria was founded in Melbourne in 1890. The original aim centred on improving the education of Service Officers by promoting the study of strategic and defence matters. A defence-oriented library has been established, which today contains a fine collection and it is being catalogued for future online access.

An early Secretary of the Victorian Institute was Captain John Monash, later General Sir John Monash (Click here for more information).

The RUSI of Victoria is a Constituent Body of the Royal United Services Institute of Australia.
